I do understand that the 32-bit office should have run under the Windows 8 64-bit I took the further step of uninstalling the 32-bit version and installed the 64-bit version. After I logged on to this community and my presented my problem, I took a chance to see what was on my distributionÄVD and discovered the 64-bit version of the software. I was reading some online comments about my type of problem but nothing seemed to stand out as a cause or solution. ![]() I suspected that this might be a reason why I was experiencing this problem since I had just installed WindowsĨ 64-bit OS a couple of days ago. ![]() After several failed attempts to edit similar documents, I discovered that I had actually downloaded the 32-bit version of Office. During the process of editing the document I noticed that when I tried used the right mouse button to bring up the short-cut menu, the screen would freeze. After I downloaded Office 2010 I created a new Word document.
